Week: November 11-17, 2007
Thanks to
President Reagan, the United States has legislation pronouncing the third
week in November as GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK! The Geography Club needs
your help in promoting Geography Awareness at MSU. Email us your ideas on how to map out
the importance of Geography to MSU.

Wonderful World (Geography Awareness Week Campaign)
Guest Speaker David Lusch to help celebrate GIS Day:
Novement 14, 2007
Mr.
Lusch will be joining the Geography Club on Wednesday, November 14th
at 5 PM to give a presentation on Google Earth. Join us in finding out
more about this fun and useful tool.
MSU Global Festival: November 18, 2007
Help
the International Community of MSU promote understanding within the
community and join in the fun of the MSU Global Festival Sunday, November
18th from 12 PM until 5 PM. Festivities will be located at the
MSU Union and will include exhibits, games, performances,
demonstrations, cuisine and a World Gift Shop with lots of fun
international gifts.

Geography Club Fundraiser: Mongolian Barbeque
The Geography Club is arranging to have a fundraiser
with JD’s Mongolian Barbeque. Set to take place sometime during the first
or second week in January, the available times to participate are
Monday-Thursday 6-9 PM.
We need your help! At least 3 people need to be
there during this time to help with the fundraiser. Please contact Briana Walker if
you are interested in signing up for the fundraiser and let her know
which day would work best for you.
Exploring
Geography in Art: The Julie Mehretu Exhibit
The Geography
Graduate Group
(GGG) GGG is planning a trip to the Detroit Institute of Art
the first or second Saturday in January. They hope to spend the day
learning about and exploring the Julie Mehretu:
City Sitings exhibit, art that is based around the constant changing of
cities over time.
